Team Corum put together a solid performance to end up second IRC 1 boat in the annual Crocs Summer Regatta.
The Crocs regatta was the first chance to test modifications done to the well campaigned Briand 43 Corum. With the idea of decreasing the rating and bringing the boat closer to its design weight extra lead was added to the keel and bilges.
The KZN Hunter provincials were a highly anticipated event for several reasons. Firstly, many of the top boats had undergone extensive upgrades and alterations, including some keels on the Hunter 19 Hulls being lowered to the extreme of the rule and new sheeting arrangements. There were also a few “New” boats in the fleet with Anthony McMillan launching his rebuilt Hunter 19, “Smoke and Oakum” and Mark Patrick with his Brand new boat. On top of this Quantum Durban had invested enormous resources in developing their new designs and many of the fleet were trying out these sails for the first time.

We are very pleased to welcome Matt on to the Quantum South Africa team. Matt is a young man with a lot of experience for his 26 years. Over the last 9 years Matt has been running some of the most successful IRC racing yachts in the world.
